Dynamic Subset Popup

Dynamic Subsets are subsets that are re-evaluated every time the subset is used. A Dynamic Subset can be made into semi-dynamic subset. A semi-dynamic subset is updated only when the Dynamic Subset are saved by the FPM Module Administrator or when the dimension is managed by Apliqo FPM. Dynamic Subsets are define using multidimension expressions, referred to as MDX.

The advantage of Dynamic Subsets over Static Subsets is that dynamic subsets do not need to be changed when new elements are added to the dimension. This is because the MDX statement is reevaluated each time the dynamic subset is used. If the new elements satisfy the MDX statement, they will appear as part of the dynamic subset. MDX is a sophisticated query language. It takes time to develop skills to write your own MDX statements.  The MDX popup has some common MDX statements predefined that can be configured. Or you can write your own MDX statements for the Dynamic Subset.

The FPM Module Administrator can create, modify, or delete Dynamic Subsets in Apliqo FPM.
