Setup of Driver Lists and Default Driver for Account and Business Segment

Menu Item

Apliqo Settings > Planning > Planning Picklists and Defaults.

General

Planning Drivers are restricted by a list of valid Drivers that can be used for the Plan Type. The lists of Planning Drivers can be modified by the FPM Module Administrator to include only the appropriate planning drivers for the organisation, the account or business segment.

For each Plan Type there is a list of drivers that are set globally. The FPM Module Administrator can edit this list of planning drivers to include only the drivers that are to be used for Driver Based Planning. The FPM Administrator can define multiple planning driver lists to be assigned to an Account or an Account and Business Segment. In that way restricting the drivers for the account or business segment. A Driver List is a subset in the relevant dimension for the planning driver. ApliqoFPM has some standard Planning Driver lists that can be modified by the FPM Module Administrator.

For each planning driver, a default driver can be set for an account, or an account and business segment combination. This default driver is used by the Set Default Driver process when the Method or Phasing option are set to Use Default. If no default driver is set, then the existing driver is left in place by the Set Default Driver process.

In the Revenue Planning, Expense Planning and Balance Sheet Planning pages the default driver can be set using the Set Planning Driver process when the Method or Phasing options are set to Use Default.

Changing the Global Driver List

The global Driver List for a Planning Driver can be viewed in the Global Default Picklist popup.

Changing Drivers in the Global Driver List

Each driver has a subset that defines the global driver list. To change the global driver list, note the subset being used by the planning driver in the Global Default PickList popup. The subset is after the last ‘:’ in TM1 syntax for the planning driver. In the example above, the global subset for the Forecast Method for the Revenue Planning is FIN Revenue Planning Default.

To change the subset, click on the Static Subset popup and find the global driver subset in the left-hand widget.

To add an element to the subset, select the element in the middle widget and click on > to add to the list of drivers in the right-hand widget. To remove a driver from the subset, right click on the row and select Remove. The order can be changed by dragging the driver up or down the list. To save the changes click on Save or Save and Close button.

Adding a New Driver List

Creating a new driver list can be done in the Static Subset popup. To create a new static subset, click on the + button in the left-hand widget. Give the Driver List a name. By convention, the subset should be prefixed with the plan type that the driver list applies. For example, FIN Expense Workforce has the driver that links Expense Planning to Workforce Planning. Assign the relevant drivers to the subset by selecting the driver and clicking on the > to add to the list. Click on Save or Save and Close button to make the change.

Assigning the Subset to the account

To link a Driver List for an account, pick the driver list to be used for the account from the drop-down list of Driver Lists available to the Planning Driver.

Not all Driver Lists are relevant for the plan type. The naming convention of prefixing the Driver List with the Plan Type will help here. See Planning Drivers for more information about which Drivers are relevant to the Plan Type. You can check the list of available Drivers for the account by looking at the Default drop-down list.

Assigning a Default Driver to an Account for a Planning Driver

In the default column pick the default driver from the drop-down list.

To remove a default driver, select the driver and hit the delete key.

Assigning the Driver List and Default Driver to an Account and Business Segment combination

Click on the BSEG popup against the account to open the BSEG popup.

Select the Segment to be filtered. Select the Company and Business Segment to be displayed in the grid. In the PickList and Default columns select the Driver List/Subset and Default Driver for the Business Segment for the Account. This driver list and default driver will override the account and global driver list and default driver for that Account and Business Segment combination.
