2023.10 » New Features and Enhancements

SQL Data source New feature

This release introduces a major improvement: ability to integrate new data sources (SQL database) into the application. Users can now configure external databases using ODBC connections and display the data through grid widgets and charts right within Apliqo UX.

After configuration (please check the https://apliqoux.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UXD/pages/2524545040 article), all added SQL databases will be listed in the cube settings popup for easy access and management.

To retrieve data from SQL databases, simply input your query into the provided textbox and click Refresh button to preview the table.

Additionally, we've enabled dynamic data updates by combining SQL queries with UX placeholder functionality, allowing you to utilize existing TM1 dimensions from other cubes or custom lists.

Excel: export as active form New feature

In this release, we are further enhancing data export capabilities with the introduction of the "Export as DBRW Active Form" option, complete with expand and collapse functionality. This improvement simplifies navigation through your exported data.

This export option can be enabled for specific reports, new advanced settings is available in the Toolbar section of the advanced options GUI.

New Drill Popup improvement

Version 2023.10 also introduces a new Drill Popup feature. The popup will now utilize the Cube Viewer widget that facilitates user interaction with data and allows modification of global filter selections.

Users can also export the table to excel with or without filters, easily update the report by dragging and dropping the dimensions to row or column section and change the zero suppression settings using the dropdown list available in the toolbar.

Wizards : Save & Discard on different levels improvement

IMPORTANT NOTE:

ContentStore upgrade is crucial for access to improved Save and Discard features.

Version 2023.10 is providing enhanced Save & Discard functionality for wizards. Users can now easily track and manage changes at different levels of wizards, including the entire wizard, individual steps, and substeps. This feature allows for more precise control over the modification and wizards content.

When a user clicks Save & Discard button, a new popup window will be launched. It will display all the changes made to the wizard, making it simple to review and decide which changes should be saved or discarded.

This enhancement enables collaborative work on the same wizard by multiple users, ensuring that each user can save only the changes relevant to their specific tasks.

Cube Settings improvements

» Title, Info & position change

Users can now easily modify titles for both view and grid widgets, adjust grid widget positions, and customize grid widget info tooltips from inside the cube settings popup.

This is a valuable addition, as it allows most configuration tasks to be performed within the cube settings popup, eliminating the need to exit the popup for these adjustments.

» Duplicate widgets & subviews

A valuable addition for users is the ability to duplicate a widget or view within the cube settings popup. A new button, now visible in the title tab, will initiate a popup. Once you've entered the desired title, view or widget will be duplicated.

» New MDX textboxes

New textboxes for MDX queries (both dimension MDX and full MDX editing) have been added in cube settings.

Views & Grid widgets improvements

» Toggle Excel headers

In this release, a small improvement has been also introduced for grid widgets and views. Users can now toggle the "Excel Headers" button when not in edit mode.

» Elements Selection

Two new options have been added to table configuration, giving users control over the Selection section in the table's context menu.

By default Show All option is no longer visible in the list but can be enabled and users can entirely hide the Selection section from the context menu.

Other improvements

» Delete Containing Folder

In the page action menu, a new option has been added under Delete option: Delete Containing Folder.

With this addition users can now conveniently delete an entire containing folder, including all its associated pages, with a single click.
