Custom Rollups new FEature

UX 2023.02 version introduces Rollup functionality, which allows users to quickly and easily aggregate data from selected members into a single, summarized record. The rollup feature can simplify data analysis and provide more comprehensive view of information. Aggregated data can be displayed in tables and charts.

Creating rollups can be done in two ways within the application: by using Subset Editor or through the table's context menu. Custom rollups are also supported in filters.

» Table context menu

Two new options, Rollup and Custom Rollup, have been added to the context menu for grid widgets and views. This feature makes it easier to analyze data by allowing users to create rollups directly from the table with quick and convenient access via the context menu.

Rollup: creates a new element that summarizes the selected members by displaying their sum, with the default name set as: "Hierarchy Name" Sum. Creating a rollup with the default Sum calculation is a single click operation.

Users also have the ability to create a Custom Rollup where the function to apply can be selected (e.g. average, count, min, max). This requires an additional dialog in order to select the mathmatical function to apply to the rollup.

In the Custom rollup popup dialog, users have the ability to specify both the Rollup Name and Rollup Function:

  • AGGREGATE/SUM: display the total for the selected members

  • AVG: display the average value of the selected members

  • COUNT: display the number of the selected members

  • MIN: display the minimum value of the selected members

  • MAX: display the maximum value of the selected members

  • STDDEV: displays sample standard deviation of the selected members

To customize the display name of a standard SUM rollup use the Custom Rollup option.

Once a rollup has been created, users have the option to modify it at any time by selecting Edit Rollup option from the context menu.

» Custom Rollup in edit mode

When Edit Mode is activated, Save option will become available in the context menu allowing user to save the current view configuration together with new custom consolidation.

» Subset Editor

The creation of a Rollup can be also accomplished by using new dedicated Rollup button within the subset editor popup, or by utilizing the Rollup option inside the context menu. The newly formed aggregated element will be reflected in global filters, columns or rows.

Impersonation new FEature

UX 2023.02 version introduces a new functionality called Impersonation.

Impersonation mode is activated by selecting Impersonate... option from the user menu, which opens a new popup dedicated to user selection. Upon logging into the application again, the admin user will assume the identity of the selected user. To exit the impersonation mode, simply log out of the application.

With this feature, users with full Admin privileges have the power to temporarily adopt the identity of a non-admin user, granting them access to resources and the ability to carry out actions that will be logged and credited to the selected user. Given the potential security implications, it is important to utilize this feature with caution.

Note: Whenever impersonation is requested by an admin user this is recorded in the tm1server.log that the admin user is impersonating "User X" with the thread ID. However, all subsequent log records for the thread will appear as if performed by "User X".

Widget Fullscreen mode new FEature

This version also brings addition of a new Full Screen Mode for widgets.

This feature enables users to maximize the size of widgets, taking full advantage of the screen space. The activation of full screen mode is straightforward and can be achieved by clicking the full screen icon in the widget header, causing the widget to expand and fill the screen, helping users to focus.

After activating widget full screen mode the user can tab through all widgets on the dashboard using the previous and next sidebar buttons.

Cube Settings IMPROVEMENTS

The latest UX 2023.02 release, introduces also several enhancements in cube settings aimed at improving configuration efficiency and the user experience for report developers.

The following changes have been made:

  • Auto refresh option is now disabled by default.

  • The table preview will only appear once the user presses the Refresh button.

  • Preview table has been limited to showing only the first fifty rows and twenty columns, to enhance the process of handling extensive views.

  • New Save as CubeView button has been added to the cube settings dialog. By using this button, user can save any changes made to the view configuration as a new view under the selected cube. This feature includes option to save the view as private.
