Release Notes - UPM - 2024.01

Highlights

Apliqo UX Version

This release includes Apliqo UX version 2023.10 FP2.

Documentation and Training

With this release a new version of the documentation is available in the webapp. You will find a help icon (“?”) in most administration app, opening the relevant chapter of the documentation in a popup. Alternatively, you can open the documentation directly from the documentation menu and browse the table of contents.

The documentation also includes a training guide for FPM administrators, that leads the way through the typical setup steps in an Apliqo FPM implementation. This training guide is the basis for the Apliqo UPM professional certification process.

Chart of Accounts Maintenance Improvements

To make the CoA maintenance more efficient a couple of bulk actions have been added:

Bulk Delete

Assign the accounts you want to delete to a bucket. In the bulk delete popup, select the bucket and when clicking “Delete All” the marked accounts will be deleted. It is recommended to make use of the backup option, which is pre-selected by default.

Bulk Map

Multiple accounts that have been assigned to a bucket can be added to a new parent at once. They can be removed from a common parent as well.

Map by attribute

Accounts can be mapped to a parent based on an attribute value that contains the parent element. The process allows to optionally remove the elements from the current parent within a reporting rollup.

Copy attribute values

A simple utitlity process that will copy the values from one attribute to another.

Remove empty consolidations

When synchronizing the CoA there is a new option available to “Delete Empty Consolidations”. When turned on empty consolidated elements will be removed from the account dimension. This can be useful when you have a big structure that has a lot of nodes that no GL accounts are (yet) mapped to.

Data Staging

The data processing app now has a new area “Data Staging”, which allows loading data using the framework’s “APQ Staging” component, allowing the user to import data from CSV, ODBC or cube sources without writing a bespoke process. A new process will move the data from APQ Staging to FIN General Ledger TB.

Migration / Upgrade Process

Catalog collections can now be used to export data and metadata from an FPM instance to the file system and imported on another instance. As of Apliqo FPM 2024.01 this logic is the recommended approach for upgrading to a new FPM version. Please refer to the documentation:

https://apliqoux.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AFD/pages/2604236806

Catalog collections also offer a great tool to manage the contents of development, test and production instances, e.g. refreshing data on the development system from production or promoting configuration changes from development to production.

New Demo Assets

ESG Demo

An ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) demo asset has been added to the FPM demo. You can see the contents of the demo by clicking the image below.

Additional CoA Rollup

An alternative chart of account structure - HGB / German local GAAP - has been added to the demo chart of accounts structure and the existing accounts have been mapped into it to showcase how reporting according to different accounting standards can be handled with Apliqo FPM. This CoA structure has also been translated to German and Japanese (change the browser language to see the translations applied).
