The easiest way to start building the Management Trial Balance is to define the rollup in a Spreadsheet. Here is template to use to define your management rollup:

View file
nameManagement TB Template.xlsx
. The format of the template is a rollup, where Level 1 is the highest level of the Management Trial Balance. The new row and next column is the components of the previous element. The element type and the element weight can be set in the first two columns. See Training: Operational Chart of Account for an example of completed Balance Sheet rollup.

Use Case 1: Import from staging cube.

In this use case, we will upload spreadsheet containing the Management Trial Balance to the Source Rollups. From the source rollup the Staging Operational CoA will be built.

The Management Trial Balance that is built in the staging Operational Chart has been sourced from the Source Rollups not from the from the original Balance Sheet.xlxs file. Changes to the Balance Sheet.xlsx will mean the spreadsheet needs to be uploaded again to the Source Rollup before the change will take effect.

Use Case 2: Import from CSV

In this use case, we link the automation step to the spreadsheet.

The Management Trial Balance that is built in the staging Operational CoA has been sourced from the CSV file. The Source Rollup is being updated with the contents of the CSV for information purposes only.

Use Case 3: Import from ODBC

In this case we use an ODBC connection to query a SQL database for the Management Trail Balance.

Set the ODBC connection.

How to create an ODBC connection is outside the scope of Apliqo FPM. There are many different types of databases with different software and procedures to create an ODBC connection. They may vary depending on the operating system. Please refer to the database documentation for more information.

Once the ODBC Connection is created the Apliqo FPM Settings need to be updated.

Create the automation step.

In the following walkthrough we are going to source the natural accounts from and ODBC source.

Use Case 4: Run a custom process.

To be provide in a future release.
