In this section we are going to set up the planning chart Planning Chart of accountsAccounts. In this training we are going to plan at the same level as the Operational Chart of Account.

Mapping of the Operational CoA to Planning CoA

The first step to establishing the Planning CoA is set the mapping of the Operational CoA to the Planning CoA. In this case the Planning CoA and the Operational CoA will be the so the mapping will be to level 0.

Mapping the Fixed Accounts for Planning

To enable driver-based planning the follow Fixed Accounts must be mapped in the Operational Chart of Accounts.

Clone the Fixed Accounts

Once done select the FIN PCoA Target and click on [Clone Definition]. Copying from the FIN OCoA to the FIN PCoA dimensions.

Manually Adjusting the Planning ID

To properly move the year-to-date actual between the General Ledger cube and the Revenue Planning, Expense Planning and Balance Sheet Planning cubes the FIN Plan Type ID needs to be mapped for every planning account. This done by the Populate Plan Type process based on the Fixed Account Mapping. Changes can be made manually made to Plan Type in the Planning CoA tab.

If you make a change the Planning CoA and/or the Operational CoA may need to be synchronised. The Dimension in Sync button will be orange if the Chart of Account needs to be synchronised.
