Maintenance

Attribute values can be maintained in Apliqo FPM using the Attribute Override tab. This feature is particularly useful when the dimension content definition is not maintained manually but for instance loaded from a data warehouse or ERP system it can be required to overwrite attribute values in Apliqo FPM. This happens on an exception basis, i.e. if managed within Apliqo FPM but is instead sourced from external systems, such as data warehouses or ERP systems.

In the Attribute Override tab:

  • select the Hierarchy,

  • select the Subset to be used in the grid

  • Select the Attribute that you want to change.

To update the current list of attributes click on the Get Attributes button.

Make the change to the attribute value in the Override Value column. Attribute values are overridden on an exception basis. If an attribute value is not manually overwritten the initial value that has been loaded will be retained.

In the operative dimension tab switch to the "Overwrite Attribute" view. Then select the attribute you want to overwrite, e.g. Description. If the attribute does not appear in the list, you will have to run the process "Get Attributes" from the toolbar.

You can now maintain the attribute values in the column "Override Value". After running the "Update Attributes" process from the toolbar you should see the new attribute value being applied. Remember to activate Entering an Override Value of “<blank>” will override the attribute value with a null value.

To apply the changes click on the Update Attributes button.

Automation

Activate (Y) the "Launch Attribute Framework updates" option in the dimension update configuration - this Framework Update settings. This will ensure that after every update of the dimension any overwritten attribute values will be applied againafter the dimension has been updated.
