In this section we are going to set up FIN Company dimension.
Menu: Apliqo Settings / Business Segments / FIN Company.
Select Automation on the sidebar.
In the first step is the cube setup for the default elements in the FIN Company dimension.

The source of the dimension is CUBE. This means the dimension is build from the Definition page. Note the Source Index is 0001. This is the index in the Dimension Definition page that the dimension definition has been entered.

The Template Type is ByParentChild. This mean each line in the Dimension Definition page the element and parent relationship is set.
A number of attributes have been defined for the first step. The Automation page list the attributes type and Alias pattern.
Add a step to the Automation page.

Add attributes to the FIN Company.
In Apliqo FPM the “Description” and “Code and Description” are standard attributes for all dimensions. The FIN Company also needs the “CurrencyISOCode” attribute.

Each Automation Step define their own attributes. The attributes do not have to in the same order or include all attributes as the other Automation Steps.
Build the FIN Company dimension
Add the company information as per the following screenshot.

Apliqo FPM reflects the organizational structure of the business using the Company and up to four additional business segments. Let’s break down the key points:
Balancing Entity: The Company serves as the balance entity. A balance entity is where the sum of the Debits and Credits in the Monthly Trial Balance equals zero. This balance is check is when the Monthly Trial Balance is loaded into Apliqo FPM. If the company does not balance the FPM Administrator needs to approve the difference before it loaded into the General Ledger.
Local Currency: The company determines the local currency that the Monthly Trial Balance is loaded and the company for forecast is planned in. The Local currency can be translated to the Reporting currencies by knowing the currency code of the company. The company’s currencies will determine the included currencies used for currency conversion.
Total FIN Company: All companies should rollup to the Total FIN Company consolidation. Other totals and sub-total can be added to the company hierarchy as required by the reporting requirements.
NA Company: The Company dimension must have the leaf element NA Company. This is used in Apliqo FPM to store data that is not associated with any company.
In summary, the Company plays a crucial role in Apliqo FPM, ensuring accurate financial reporting and currency conversions.
Managing the Company Dimension
You can access the Company setup through the page: Administration > Business Segments > FIN Company. The Company setup page is divided into three tabs.
Company: Shows the current structure of the Company dimension. On this tab you can override the default attributes and set the group security for the company.
Automation: Set the properties and the steps to build the Company dimension. The Company dimension can be built from a csv file, a SQL query (ODBC), dimension, attribute, Process or from the Definition tab (cube). Each step can have one of these sources. When building the Company dimension, each step is executed in order.
Definition: Allows the FPM Module Administrator to define the parent-child relationship between elements in the Company dimension to build the Company hierarchy.
Definition Tab
In this section we are going to set up FIN Company dimension using the Definition tab. Using a clean install of Apliqo FPM, the minimum setup of the Company dimension is already defined. Click on the Automation tab. Step 0001 is already fill out. Expand the options by clicking on the >.

When this step is executed, the process will look at the Dimension Definition cube at Source Index 0001 to understand the relationship between the elements of the Company dimension. Click on the Definition tab and select Source Index 0001.

Building the hierarchy
The Dimension Definition set out in the same manner as the Company subset editor. On the first line, first column is the Total FIN Company. And on the second line, second column the NA FIN Company. Which is a component of the Total FIN Company consolidation. This layout is the Template Type, ByRollup. Which sets the subsequent entries in the next column are components of the element in the previous column. Empty rows are ignored.
The vType column determines the element type of the element. The vWeight sets the weight of the component.
Click on the > (Add Level to Rollup) will add a column to the table. Click on the + (Add Row) to add more rows to the table.

The attributes for elements can be maintained in the Dimension Definition page. Attributes can be added or moved.

Adding a step to the Company dimension
Add the company code 1000 to the FIN Company dimension.

Manage company security.
Select Company from the sidebar. Click on the Security button.
Auto Create Groups
Auto-create Groups button will activate security for the dimension for the first time. Set Create Root Only Group to Yes and press Auto-create Groups.

Create Groups button will create a new security group. Complete the new group name then click Add Groups.

Security groups can be manually created.

Modify the Security
To modify the dimension security, is needed to select a subset and a group.
Permission Level - set the permission level: None, Read, Write, Lock, Reserve, Admin.
Permission Type
Recursive-apply : Apply the same permission level to all children of that element (if the elements do not have any permission set).
Point - apply : Apply permission only to the specific element.
Click on Update Security after the permissions are set up, select the group, and press Update Security
